In an effort to improve and expand our customer service for Selmon Expressway drivers, THEA has partnered with Valor Intelligent Processing to service any toll transactions on your account that have been referred to collections.
Why Did I Receive a VIP Collections Notice?
These charges are tolls for travel on the Selmon Expressway. THEA refers transactions to VIP for collection only after two Toll-by-Plate Invoices issued by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise have gone unpaid by the due date on the notice. Failure to pay tolls is a violation of Florida law and can result in the assessment of additional fees and the placement of a vehicle registration hold that prevents registration renewal on vehicles associated with unpaid tolls.
If you received a VIP Collections Notice and have a SunPass account, it may mean the license plate information on the account is missing or inaccurate, or there may be something wrong with your SunPass account (such as, no funds on the account or an expired credit card). Although Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority accepts SunPass, Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority is a separate government entity from SunPass, and Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority always makes a second attempt to obtain payment from SunPass using the photographic image of the vehicle's license plate prior to sending a Toll-By-Plate Notice.
